Fire in Text
Create a flaming background for type.

Do it for me 1. Select the Horizontal Type tool .

If you want to enter vertical type, select the Vertical Type tool instead.

2. In the options bar, make sure that the Create a Text Layer button is selected. Select a font family and a font size.
3. Click in the image window and enter the type you want. Then click the OK button in the options bar to commit the text.
Do it for me 4. Choose Layer > New > Layer to create a new layer.
5. In the dialog box, set the Mode to Hard Light and the Opacity to 80%, and click OK.
Do it for me 6. Select the Rectangular Marquee tool .
7. Click and drag to create a rectangular selection approximately the same size as your type.
Do it for me 8. Select the Gradient tool .
Do it for me 9. Choose Window > Show Swatches to show the Swatches palette, and choose yellow as the foreground color.
10. Alt-click (Windows) or Option-click (Mac OS) in the Swatches palette to set red as the background color.
11. Position the cursor at the bottom of your rectangular selection. Then click and drag from bottom to top to create a gradient.
Do it for me 12. Choose Layer > Group with Previous to make the gradient visible only in the text.
Do it for me 13. Choose Select > Deselect to remove the marquee selection.
Do it for me 14. Choose Filter > Distort > Ripple.
15. In the dialog box, drag the slider to a high setting, and click OK.
Do it for me 16. Choose Filter > Blur > Motion Blur.
17. In the dialog box, set the Angle to 90 degrees, and drag the slider until you are satisfied with the result. Then click OK.
Do it for me 18. Select the Move tool .
19. Adjust the position of the flames inside the text as desired.
